Diwali - Festival of Lights
Diwali is one of the most celebrated Indian festivals where families gather and distribute sweets, worship goddess Laxmi and Lord Ganesha for the growth and prosperity of their families.
As the pandemic restricted our celebrations, we found our own solution by creating a virtual event for all the staff and the children to connect.
Shruti Pathak performed for us and I was amazed by her voice – s
ays Shalu,
a 15-year-old from TARA Boys, who is dreaming to become a singer when he grows up. The children were excited to wear their brand new festive clothes, had delicious food, and cherished these precious times together.
A big thank you to our sponsors and donors who contributed to our Diwali Campaign.

Christmas - An Occasion of Wishes
Christmas is an occasion filled with magical times because people visit their families and celebrate this holiday with shared moments of love and joy. At TARA, we celebrate Christmas with full enthusiasm by singing Christmas carols, dancing to new songs, and take part in exciting activities.
This year too, we ensured that the children don’t miss out on the happy times, as TARA believes in improving the social skills of the children and engage them in an inclusive environment to grow with their peers.
We organized an exciting party where children danced, had tasty treats, and embraced these special moments with the presents they received from Santa Claus. Everyone had a blast!

Celebrating 9 years of TARA Tots |
|
|
TARA Tots started its journey on 16th January, nine years ago with a group of 2 to 10-year-olds coming from a traumatized past. Since that day, TARA Tots has ensured the holistic development of the toddlers by providing quality education, complete health care, participation in extracurricular activities, and a nurturing family-like environment.
As we do every year, we will organize a party for the children and staff to come together and enjoy this important anniversary. A warm note of thanks to Ms. Komuha, our Program Manager, and the team of TARA Tots who have made 2020 safe, smooth and fun for the Tots despite exceptional circumstances.

People Will Die Less of Pandemic More of Hunger
We are proud to share the excerpt from an article written by Shyamu, from TARA Boys. He wanted to express his perspective and concern on the serious consequences that the pandemic has caused in the lives of many people in India.
I agree with the statement that pandemic has increased inequality in India. Although it would be wrong to put all the blame of inequality on pandemic because this has always been in our society for ages. Pandemic has highlighted the social differences which existed in society. The prevalence of inequalities has now clearly come into notice when everyone, whether rich or poor, has been affected by the outbreak of the virus...
